Global Collection Network
Umba Textiles operates an extensive collection network spanning multiple continents, sourcing used clothing from charity organizations, municipal recycling programs, and commercial partners. With over 500 active collection points and a monthly intake exceeding 2,000 tons, our collection infrastructure is built for volume and consistency.
Our sourcing relationships are the product of more than 20 years of trust-building — long-term partnerships with organizations that depend on reliable, ethical offtake for their textile recovery programs.
How We Collect
Charity and nonprofit partnerships. We work directly with charitable organizations and NGOs that run clothing donation drives and drop-off programs. These partnerships provide a steady stream of quality used garments while supporting the social missions of our partners.
Municipal recycling programs. In many regions, we serve as the commercial processing partner for government-run textile recycling schemes. Our capacity to handle large, mixed-grade volumes makes us an ideal downstream processor for municipalities seeking responsible textile diversion.
Commercial and industrial sourcing. Retail overstock, end-of-line inventory, and commercial textile waste represent a significant and growing collection channel. We work with brands, retailers, and manufacturers to reclaim textiles that would otherwise be discarded.
Bulk sourcing agreements. For high-volume suppliers, we offer structured procurement contracts with guaranteed offtake volumes, competitive pricing, and streamlined logistics. These agreements provide suppliers with planning certainty and revenue predictability.
Quality at the Source
Not all collected textiles are equal. Our field teams apply first-stage quality screening at the point of collection — assessing incoming materials for contamination, moisture damage, and general condition before they enter our processing pipeline.
This early-stage filtering means our sorting facilities receive cleaner, higher-quality feedstock, which translates directly into better output grades and fewer rejected bales downstream. Every ton that enters our system has already passed its first quality checkpoint.
Geographic Reach
We source from over 25 countries across Europe, North America, and the Middle East. Our logistics network connects collection points in these regions to our sorting facilities in the UAE, Turkey, and Pakistan — ensuring a continuous, diversified supply chain that is resilient to regional fluctuations in textile availability.
